Processing a card.
1) Customer enters bank’s branch and opens a new account.
2) Data is entered into the branch database and to the IFC software.
3) A request for personalisation is made using the entered client data.
4) Personal Identification Numbers (PIN) is generated electronically by the Operator.
5) The PIN’s are re-entered for verification.
6) If accepted, the card is processed by the Medallion/Advantage 2000 system and handed to the customer immediately.
In batch processing, the computer generated PIN option is selected.
Data can be imported for personalisation from the issuer host in .csv format
Below we provide one example of the *.csv text file from which the information will be up-taken:
"0000,0000,0000,0000, ,9,13,MICHAEL,SMITH,1,99,1,99,1,1,1,NBS, ,".
The values in this *.csv text file represent the following data fields:
Acc1, Acc2, Acc3, Acc4, Acc5, IssueCode, LanguageCode, FName, LName, MemberMM, MemberYY, ValidMM, ValidYY, ExpiryMM, ExpiryDD, ExpiryYY, CompanyName, PINOffset”.
This data can be imported record by record or as a batch file. In the case of more than one record being imported, the operator can be selective as to which records are used for card production.
The card is personalised on the Medallion/Advantage 2000 system and the PIN is printed secretly on a PIN mailer with the PIN offset being encoded on the Magnetic stripe.
Both card and PIN mailer can then be mailed separately direct to the cardholder or can be put in secure storage to await the cardholder to attend the branch for pick up.
